I Wonder ?

I wonder - how many of ya-all are outside Australia.
I personally am - California US. Bad news is, there is currently a huge drought going one here. 'Good' news ? clear night sky's.

I think there are approximately six and a half billion people outside Australia and most all of them are really Australians...I mean everyone must be Australian at heart....right
One gets the impression there are a lot of Australians living all over but a google for those stats may resolve some numbers.

I posted this question berceuse.. As there are many astrological forums available on the World Wide Web - I sought Ice in Space -- apart. Knowledgeable , Openness , Willing to share its knowledge. Helpfulness , and so many more accolades.
Do I sense a bit of - 'Outsider' .. of.. ' Us and Them '. Surely not. The Sky's are wide open, to all. As is the beauty of this Forum.

Hello,

Love your tag "Be the Man - your Dog thinks you are"...

My Staffy has been locked in a cage for the past 4weeks after a leg op. I'd hate to know what he thinks of me right now! The dog used to rule the house and us very well up till then.

Steve
Ps. I thought I would go use Honeysuckle tracking station as my dark sky site two plus years ago, I am an Apollo baby, and just got a telescope for the 50th. After the drought, the fires, then the floods... it has finally opened after 30months of closures...

Hi Lee,

I'm in the Melbourne area in Victoria, Australia. The night sky is fairly polluted in my location (~Bortle 7) as I'm about 10 km from the city centre, but I can drive 10 minutes or so around the bay to get to a get to a Bortle 5 site, which is around 3 times darker. Certainly not perfect, but OK, except for the recent run of cloudy conditions that is.

How dark is it in your location in California?

Best
JA

Hi Leee, this is not an astrological forum. It is for the pursuit of astronomy, the study and discussion of the stars and the cosmos in a scientific fashion.

Probably a culture thing. Australian's take the piss out of everything. Including mates. Actually, especially mates. Mates we take the piss out of the most.
If Aussies are joking with you, it's because they're being friendly

I am not going anywhere..if death cant nail me after two goes in as many weeks it is bound to go look for easier pickings...I mean I am stuffed after a horrific op but cutting my meds to a leathal level it could not get the job done...it likes playing with me I like playing with it..so as I said I said I aint going anywhere

And the microscope you gave me has more features than one could expect and the little camera I got for it is so handy..I leave the camera in and have an image on the screen and use the single ep with the measuring stick.
It is terrific...thanks again.
Alex
