Jupiter this morning April 12th from Melbourne

Experienced the best seeing conditions for Jupiter ever this morning just before the low cloud rolled over Melbourne. The stars seemed to not twinkle at all and this was proof of what incredibly stable images I was seeing at the laptop. Would say seeing peaked at 9/10 at just before 5am.

Mirror was at ambient and had slight moisture on my mirror for the first time as ambient temp's dropped below dewing point.

Would say that excluding my level of processing skill was at the limit of what my SPC900 webacm and 12.5" can achieve at this stage.

2 Images attached - 20 minutes apart and also shown at a 75% reductions.

There appears to be a large new oval in the NNTB area that has a nice red centre within it.

Lots of stuff going on at Jupiter at the moment and a great spectacle.

cheers,

John.

Magnificent! The lat 2 are the best.. the first two are overexposed in the SEZ and the colour in the last 2 are more pleasing as well.

I'd love to have a go at processing them?

Great images and well done!

Well done, John.

It sure has been a good season for you so far.

Still plenty to do with June's Opposition approaching.

And then we have Mars

Superb images John. You guys in the southern states with the big guns are certainly turning out some amazing Jupiter images this season.

Cheers
