Back on the go again!
I'm very happy, just quickly glanced at my results from last night's imaging before coming to work and after several nights (spaced over about a week) it seems I'm getting back to a reasonable success rate.
I've been struggling with what I thought was PE. I downloaded PEMPro and had little success improving the PE - the graph improved showing that in theory there was an improvement, but the PE had become jerky, resulting in more trailing than before correction! Turns out, after spending a night actually in the observatory, I heard the RA motor "rattling". Oh-oh! So on the weekend I swapped the RA motor for another spare I have, and bingo, problem solved! I've got no trailing in most 30 and 60 second shots and I haven't trained PEC yet, so looks like things are back to normal.
Very happy!
Now I'll be able to get back to acquiring NGC's ... just passed the 400 mark, so about 1/10th the way to completion. Got some real neat ones in the 400 so far, just haven't worked out a way to efficiently upload them to my website to show people.
Also have some images of comet Boattini from last night that I'll have to process sometime.
It's nice when things start to work again Felt like I was pushing bricks up a hill last week.

Roger.
