goto upgrades
Hi all,
I had a look in the forums but couldn't find anything relating to my question- it might be a bit obvious though. Anyway, I was looking at the price of a goto mount (eq5 or heq5) and when I add up the non go to version and upgrade price, its about the same as the go to from the get go. There also seems to be a lot of discussion about upgrading the gears and degreasing then putting white lithium grease on. My question is.. is it possible to just buy a good set of motors and the hand controller and install that to get go to? Or to buy a mount with motors installed and then buy the hand controller? Or is there something special about the upgrade kit like it has extra controller boards or something? It seems easier to just grease a new kit than to degrease and also in terms of warranty, I think this is sounds less infringing than to pull apart a goto..
