Jupiter, April 9, Canberra

The seeing was quite nice this morning between 3 and 4am.

Here's Jupiter taken with the 9.25, ToUcam ProII, 3x Televue barlow.

This is the best 330 frames of 1000 stacked in Registax 4 and processed with mild wavelets.

Plenty of interesting stuff happening through the Equatorial region.

I like the unusual looping festoon down and to the right of the GRS

Nice one Matt, your images are getting consistently good now. I'll be trying tomorrow morning - so far the whole weekend has been a washout but the next 3 days are supposed to be clear.

Nice one Matt, I'm heading out to Murrumbateman tonight if you're interested... (assuming the 3.30pm forecast is good).

Thanks for the kind comments, guys.

I think the thing I'm most happy about with this image is that it was taken from my own backyard.

Conditions in and around Canberra are tricky at the best of times, so it was nice to get this sort of seeing "at home".

I've had a few of these nights during March and April.

This really does appear to be a good time of year for imaging in Canberra.

Bird - thanks for the offer. Will get back to you on that one. Got the family visiting @ the moment. Also got some work I really have to get done.

Cheers
