coming the raw Prawn

Hi all, I cant recall ever such a prolonged period of trully impossible weather... not even gettiing to dodge clouds, it's like one big solid. I've literally had just 3 possible nights of imaging in the last two months and with new gear I've been struggling to make use of them rather than just overcome gear hurdles.

Last Sat night I did get some hours of clear to try the Riccardi 0.75x redcuer on my APM130/6 scope, and managed a few on the Tarantula and then swapped to our subject here the Prawn.

The Tarantula stuff was well guided but i muffed the framing...the Prawn, not sure why, possibly lots of high cloud, but guiding went to S%$t and only manage to keep 26 of the 60 exposures (4min each) so around 1h 44m.

The Riccardi reducer seems to work ok, but clearly i have a little tilt and imperfect spacing...but who has sky time to sort such out I ask you

Anyway, I willadd to this, but who knows when that will happen, so for now I present to you my undercooked "raw" Prawn. Processed in APP and photoshop only.

Very tasty serve of prawn and on the contrary ,very well cooked i would say.
Lots of lovely detailed nebulosity with varied colour and crisp little round stars. Makes me want to get back to the refractor.

A good target to net.

That's a lovely image!
Possibly a tad oversaturated on my monitor?
Yes, the weather has been challenging, and you have done well here!

thanks Andy, and you're right on the saturation... it's a lot less saturated on my screen on PS, but when I look in Astrobin and here in jpeg it hurts my eyes... I've loaded up a lower sat version, but almost had to get to grayscale (bit of an exaggeration) to tone it down on astrobin.

here goes

https://astrob.in/ps574b/E/

EDIT - it's still coming out here way over-saturated to what's on my screen on PS... wierd. never had this before.

baffled by apparent Sat difference from PS to jpeg here and AB

here's a screen snip showing what I see in PS (right) versus what it appears like on IIS and AB... any ideas?

Robert
Nice capture with plenty of detail , amazing colour and really tight star field
Well done !!
Yes it’s been a lean summer , hopefully the weather pattern will start to shift in April with some prevailing good high pressure systems and westerly air streams along the eastern seaboard
