For sale is my SkyWatcher HEQ5 Pro equatorial mount. I purchased this mount in November 2020 from Astronomy Alive so it is less than 6 months old.
It comes with - well everything you'd expect:
- tripod and accessory tray / spreader
- mount
- counterweights x 2
- hand controller and cable
- 12v power cable
- cardboard box & padding for mount
- cardboard box for tripod
- cardboard boxes for counterweights
- hard case for mount with padding cut to suit the mount & room for you to put in a few extras that you like to travel with
In the 4 months that I've owned it, the tripod & counterweights have lived outside 24/7. They've been stored under a motorcycle cover when not in use but there's a bit of surface rust visible on the counterweight screws, and on one of the counterweights where the powdercoating was chipped when I got it. Reason for sale: when I purchased my telescope setup I got everything that I thought I would ever need, and I was going to run a lightweight astrophotography setup with just the telescope and a dslr, and so the HEQ5 Pro was going to be fine. That may have been a touch naive. See last pic...
Pickup is Eltham North in Melbourne, I can possibly meet someone half way if that helps. Probably not half way to Sydney though! I'm willing to ship at your expense, but Astroanarchy sells these brand new for $1525 delivered so while $1200 is a handy saving off new for local pickup, that saving starts to get eaten away pretty quickly if you're paying for shipping.
