Let's hope for good conditions
Looking a bit ordinary outside at the moment, but that won't stop me setting up for tomorrow morning's GRS transit.
Fingers crossed we'll have great conditions at least between 2am and 4.30am

Hi Matt, it's a teasing sort of a day. not quite sure what it want's to do.
My fingers are crossed at this end as well, there is a galaxy cluster that I was thinking of bagging while the neighbours are away and their lights are off.
Best of luck for the transit.

I had guests over last night for a viewing session at about 730PM. As usual it was wall to wall clouds, but just as they were getting ready to leave at 1030pm, it magically cleared like crystal. Except for the waning gibbous, it was perfect. So I chained them both to the pier and tortured them with an hour of planets and DSO's.
Hehehehehehehehehe.......

Just finished packing up from a great night of observing. the sky was looking great the moon was too bright still for galaxy chasing so I had a great couple of hours looking at some of the brighter clusters and globulars and was still able to view down to mag 9-10 even with old luna hanging around.
Matt, Jupiter was looking very grand, I think you will have a great morning of imaging.
Cheers

Yes, it's looking nice Ric
Fingers crossed it's all nice and stable in about 2 hours' time.
We really have been quite lucky the last month or so.
It (March/April) seems to be a great time of the year (seeing wise) for Canberra and region.

And like too many nights before it...tonight has fallen victim to the oh-so-predictable Weather Gods.
Cloud...everywhere...!!!!!!!!
Funny how it appeared just when I plugged the ToUcam in
Oh well. A few extra hours of sleep sounds alright to me

What a bummer Matt, there is nothing worse than after all that waiting you get pipped at the post.
It must have rolled in pretty quick then.

Yes it did, Ric.
And it was that low, fast-moving cloud which loos like it's gonna clear at any minute but doesn't.
The really frustrating part was that I occasionally caught a glimpse of Jupiter through a small hole and the seeing looked really good
Oh well. There'll be other nights/mornings.
Cheers
