How heavy is a Meade 12"LX200 and Giant Tripod

In 2004 when I was a sprightly 65 year old and attending my first starparty an inquisitive young guy who was built like an All Blacks tighthead suggested my scope was misaligned and offered to move it for me.

He proceeded to lift it above his head where he held it with only one hand like the statue of liberty holding a torch. I was aghast, please don't drop my brand new $10,000 telescope.

I often wonder now if he is still lifting huge rocks and running with them?

Hi Mike

PS According to my manual they weigh a combined 123lbs.

Hmmmm?....That story, while perhaps a tad embellished ..sounds familiar...
