Comet Lovejoy developing a tail

Hi
I did a much deeper imaging session early thismorning first image from 3:57 am.
8x5mins ISO200. UV/IR filter, MPCC. 6 inch F3.6 "Cometracker" schmidt newtonian Hutech modded 350D camera. Hand guided.
I aligned each image on the comet using single "star" alignment in Iris, which had some trouble aligning on the diffuse central condensation. Then stacked and processed as usual.

The comet was zooming past Galaxy NGC 6902 and fainter IC 4946 on left and upper left. A definate tail is now starting to appear pointing to upper left.

The coolest conditions for some time, temp round 12 degrees

Looking good! We might be in for a treat with Terrys Comet.

Great image Scott. Tail is quite evident.

Nice capture Scott, I'm hoping I'll get a chance this weekend to have a good look myself.

Cheers

It's a pretty little thing isn't it.
I'll enjoy following it's progress as it develops.

The moon will be intruding now though, will be a few weeks before we see it in dark skies again, though by then it will be brighter
