Stl-11000m Ngc5139

Taken last night with STL-11000M on a televue NP101mm F/5.4 on G11 mount. 5 mins each RGB crop and dark sub.

Good work Phil. The core is a little burnt out, but resolves well. May need to lower your exposure times. I've found that if I combine and layer 2, 6 and 10 minute exposures, there is no loss of detail in the core and plenty of stars in the outer faint regions. Trial and error.

Hi Phil,
Thats a mighty Camera you have there, however for point sources like this (stars) you only need short exposures, I might suggest anything from 1 Min. to 4 Min. depending on the Scope, if its slow like F-10 then maybe the 4 Min. Exp., faster scopes less of course, Im attaching a single 3 Min. Exp. at ISO-400 of this object taken using a Canon EOS300D + ED80 F-7.5 Scope, DF removed & guided as my example.

Nice shot Phil, I bet the full size pic looks fantastic!!! I reckon the TV-np101 and the stl-11000m would be a great combo...I`m jealous!!!
