Proxima has an orbit about 100 000 years long, which is based on the current projected separation. (Many dozen of sources) The literature also places some doubt on the true connection to alpha Centauri, and there is no direct evidence of orbital motion. Ie. The stars could be travelling in roughly the same direction through
space.
