Orion 80mm

Well after much thinking I finally purchased an Orion 80mm short tube scope. Bought it through Bintel and it came complete with scope, guide rings, dovetail and extension tube for $329 oh and it also had Starry Night Special Edition and Sky Theatre. Initial verdict is not a bad scope but unfortunatly the clouds have rolled in so havent tried it yet and I will be in Sydney on Tuesday for a week so I will have to wait to try it out.

They've changed the package. It didn't used to have those.

If you were going to use it for astrophotography the extra 100 bux would have been well spent on the ED80 the plain 80mm shorty is just for use as a guide scope from what Ive heard. However the ED version gets very good reviews for its price to optics ratio I know I have more fun imaging with the little ed80 than I do with the meade 10"
just my humble opinion of course.
