Rosette and Running Chicken Nebulas with 6 inch
Hi all
Heres the Rosette Nebula
3x16mins
and the Running Chicken Nebula, 2x15 mins
Both with Idas uv/ir and Baader uhc-s filter. MPCC, Hutech modded 350Dm hand guided.
Taken from light polluted Newcastle, though sky was unusually clear last night and this morning.

Howdy
the guidescope is about 600mm focal length, a cheap "focal" brand catadioptric ex halleys comet special scope. I use a 2x barlow and a 6mm eyepiece in an illuminated recticle hoolder.

Thanks all
Yes the coma corrector totally rejuvinates this scope, greatly reducing coma I used to get with it.
The focusser is a bit agricultural, add a 10x reductioin crayford type low profile focusser and it will be even a better scope

boy oh boy that Lambda Centaurus shot in particular is really good..get some H alpha data to add to it and it will be even more of a stunner
Its amazing how extensive this nebula is- and usually can barely see any nebulosity even when imaging (ie in the raw captures) let alone visually
