Martin the detail is jaw dropping. I only hope folk thinking about telescope options take note of the astro graph that enabled these fabulous captures...you may recall years ago now I said that the 6 inch Newtonian was greatly underestimated and you clearly demonstrate what a sensible choice a 6inch can be. Wond3rful job.

Thanks so much everyone
Very pleased with the results, it shows what is capable with a $299 6” newt and and a quality camera in heavy light pollution.
I’m going to have a ball with this camera , so much more to learn and explore
Eager to get down to my dark site soon and image with my 8” newt
Cheers

I suppose that some of that performance is down to a newer, very sensitive APSC camera on a shorter focal length. Similar to the match of a 1600 and an f6 refractor.

That and very intelligent use of filter and software combination with a proven software system of processing.

A shorter FL Newt is Definitely a cheaper way to get a faster wider field detail with less colour issues if you can correct the coma.
