Heq5 connection issues

Like a lot of others here I have had problems where the heq5 will not connect to either the handset or eqmod. Instead it displays no axes available on the handset and times out in eqmod,

Normally a quick clean and blow of the handset cable RJ port and it works.

Not this time.

Luckily after dismantling the connection board and wiping out all the dirt and dust and little spider webs , along with a little alchohol clean of the separated RJ port, it works again. Did not want to use alcohol near the board itself. Phew.

Lost one clear night only.

Although it would be a good excuse to replace with onstep. Better if the board still works.

I would not worry too much about using alcohol on the board, Isopropyl is a standard cleaning fluid when soldering.
