Just saw this advertised in the TV guide for melbourne. It will be on this Sunday 25/3/2007.

The Moon

8:30pm - 9:30pm | SBS G Documentary, Closed Captions
How the moon was formed is still unconfirmed. The latest thinking suggests it was created after a collision between the Earth and a Mars-sized planet early in the Earth's history. This documentary explores the lunar landscape, its countless craters and the scars from millions of years worth of impacts.

It's listed for 20:30 on the Sydney, Southern and (some) regional/country programmes - at least in N.S.W..

SBS seem to be using this timeslot for a lot of astronomy related documentaries. They had several in this slot last year, and a few this year. It think if I was going on holidays for a few weeks, I would just record this slot and see what comes up

We only just installed Foxtel Digital after hanging off for years. I have to say that the digital service coupled with their IQ box is superb. One-touch recording via the internet.... The Moon is set to record.

Like many others on this site broadband television services are unavailable where I live - unless one is prepared to pay the preposterous charges levied by satellite based companies.

I've got to be honest though: even should it (cabled broadband) be made available I would not subscribe. As I watch little television I think that the value wouldn't be there.

I agree with your sentiments. We hung off for years because we don't watch much telly either - and just could not see any value in Foxtel at all. Most of the stuff they show in real time is junk.

Now that the IQ box is available - timeshifting is such a breeze and, as I mentioned, can be driven remotely over the net. I've even logged in on my PDA while in a boring meeting, scanned for a good show and set it to record something I was interested in. Worked a treat! Got home and there it was - ready to watch.

Now all we do is scan the guide a few days ahead and set only those shows that we really want to watch to record. This way our whole TV experience is based on content that is actually interesting to us.
