I've got to be honest though: even should it (cabled broadband) be made available I would not subscribe. As I watch little television I think that the value wouldn't be there.

I agree with your sentiments. We hung off for years because we don't watch much telly either - and just could not see any value in Foxtel at all. Most of the stuff they show in real time is junk.
Now that the IQ box is available - timeshifting is such a breeze and, as I mentioned, can be driven remotely over the net. I've even logged in on my PDA while in a boring meeting, scanned for a good show and set it to record something I was interested in. Worked a treat! Got home and there it was - ready to watch.
Now all we do is scan the guide a few days ahead and set only those shows that we really want to watch to record. This way our whole TV experience is based on content that is actually interesting to us.
