eta carina test run

gday all.

Was testing the guiding on my mount the other night after getting everything all set up properly again. Ive also got a new pc for the shed which required setting up too.
All seemed well, so I decided to do a test run on eta carina while the going was good.
Ive been playing around with different software for capture and processing over the last little while and I think ive finally settled on backyard Nikon for capture. Runs so much better and less glitchy than DigicamControl.
I think ive got phd2 sorted, and DSS seems to do the trick, but its the processing im still struggling with.
Not sure about the colours but it is what it is I guess.
Im sure ill get there in the end , but until then here is my first proper dso pic.
Hopefully I can gain some insight into how to improve this.

Enjoy...……..or not

Nice shot, those colors are pretty close to what I used to end up with prior to modifying my canon - is the Nikon modified?

I posted a before and after modification mosaic of the same target a couple of weeks back which shows quite a difference.

Yeah mate. Unmodded. It’s the d5200. I plan on changing to a 5300 soon.
