Captured the Tarantula last night before the moon got up too high, probably last time until next summer
Resolution of subs were below par due to imaging at a low altitude ( punching through all that atmosphere)
8” f5 Bintel newt on an EQ6-R Mount
Canon 600D stock with Baader coma corrector (no filters)
JMI auto focuser
ISO 800
32 x 4 minute dithered guided subs
25 x darks
PHD2 guiding at 0.80 to 0.90 arc sec error
Medium dither every second sub
Frame , focus and capture with BYEOS
Goto and tracking EQMOD, StellariumScope and Stellarium
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.4
Is that one cropped at all? Just interested because I have basically the same setup but F4 (200mm is close enough to the same as an 8"). The difference in the FOV is more than I expected it would be.

You must be imagining nearly every night Martin.
A really hard Target and even harder to get the colours right but I think you've nailed it. Had a go at this one with my 6" but it's a bit small but your 8" is perfect for this.

Thanks Martin, that's a very useful bit of info. I'm going to have to solve a few images and work through the calculations a few times. It will be helpful choosing the next scope + camera combo now I have an idea of the type of targets I'm interested in (and available / possible from a Melbourne back yard).
