Hi, after Rocket Boy (Andrew) suggested using a NR software program to fix up a noisy 1600 ISO and problematic comet pic of mine - it got me thinking - RB gave a small 'reduced for the web' pic of mine a quick going over, which is all i had ever very briefly/fleetingly tried in the past.
many many of you have
long been fans of such like proggies, neat image being the fave out there? but I am excited newbie, so forgive me for stating the obvious!
But it only dawned on me later, that there would/should be a dramatic difference when you run the original/full size (processed ones as well of course) image thru the proggy - same it is for everything else in processing images,

.
i was shocked how good a job the one I used did (Noise Ninja) luckily my trial d/l version of NN, from a few years ago, can actually process TIF's without putting the watermarks/overlaid grid on it like it does to the jpg's I tried. seeing I probably would only be doing it to RAW's converted to 16 bit tiffs anyway, I dont think I have to worry about buying a copy (full pro version $70 or so US)
so thanks again Andrew

, I would have probably never had tried it otherwise!
also helped with a stitched panorama in eliminating stitch lines to a dergree also! I dont like the way it strips colour from the stars, making them all white , but just boosting colour saturation seems to fix that problem. And overdone isnt right of course - that classic unnatural waxy look i have seen so much of.
I have by no means mastered this program, but i cant believe how i had such a poor view of this program, but when used this time, i am a true believer.
Anyway thanks again RB, I owe ya one
what NR programs are evryone using out there?
