Deceased Laptop

My laptop, like the proverbial parrot, has gone to meet its maker. Sad, but also a great opportunity (ie excuse) to upgrade.

Does anyone have any tips on what to look for? I'm wary of Vista till the inevitable MS bugs are sorted.

I use Starry Night Pro and Images Plus for photography with my Canon 350D. I'm not looking for a Rolls Royce but a decent amount of RAM and memory are obvious requirements.

I'm open to suggestions

Pete

Hi Pete.

I can't give you any current stats as I haven't kept up-to-date but 1gig of RAM would be minimum, especially with photoshop. 2gig processor+ would be good too.

Pete Im with Mike, I got mine through Dell, and you can costomise and build it as you go.

That way you can have in it what you like, and stop when you have reached your budget.

Its home delivered and, they have great back up service.

Cheers Leon

Pete, you might want to have a quick read of the thread I started a couple of weeks ago.

"I'd like an Astrolaptop. What would you include? "
