A New World Order - enter the "Assah"
As most of you know I am waiting for my new big FLI 35mm format CCD camera to arrive for use on my ASA N12 Astrograph but while I wait I have had the priveledge of assisting Chris Willington in processing the first Aussie ASA full colour image - that of Orions Sword using "his" ASA N12.
We have been working on it for some time (mostly him of course) and it is great to see the final product released.
To see the final result is very satisfying as it clearly shows the power of this scope was clearly not over stated, in fact I probably under estimated it
You can see the first two images from Chris's ASA N12 here - Warning: prepare to have your chin hit the floor!
http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/asa_n12_images
Make sure you click on "original" size under each image to really check out the quality of this beast of a scope - just amazing!
Ed: My impending ProLine11002 is the FLI equivalent (but reportedly even better) of Chris's STL11002 camera so while I am fast running out of patience waiting for it, I am also bloody excited!

Ah yes but then there is the ASA N12 too = approx AU$13000 (landed at your door) the you need the few accessories necessary to mate them together, the filters, the high quality mount, the high performance computer necessary for the large files etc etc...tis an expensive hobby if you want the big fish. Ouch!
