A Christmas Rose

Christmas Eve was pretty good for taking subs after the breeze died down about 11ish. I couldn't shoot this target till after midnight as it's blocked by our tree in the back till after that time.

60 x 30 second subs associated darks and flats and dark flats. I'm pretty sure there is some pinching of the stars due to the 0.6 reducer but will have to check the scope's airy disk to see if it needs some collimation.

Taken in Bortle 6-7 skies Melbourne L-Pro filter processed in APP, further tweaked in nebulosity then finished in photoshop. Is it supposed to be this red?

Another nice, soft and natural image Nik. The core has a nice blue in it too but you’ll probably need a lot more integration time to be able to bring it out. The detail in this one is nice too. It’s a good starting point for you to continue working on.

Good work !

My view is limited by a tree which I have to prune back otherwise I'd have a few hours integration. Was gonna do some more last night but it clouded over after midnight for a bit then the haze set in.... cheers
