California nebula

This is a poor, 30 minute rendition since fog/smoke haze came in just after I started imaging. It's already a hard enough target being low in the north.
It would turn out very nicely on a clear night I think - it's a fairly bright nebula.

Standing upright it does resemble California, with San Francisco Bay half way up on the left.

I wish I had your field of view from the city you capture some great targets. Has that skywatcher thingy worked for you?

Thanks Nik. I've been after this one for a while because my wife is from San Francisco.
About 20 degrees later in the evening there's the Flaming Star nebula as well - just need some clear sky

The Skywatcher thingy hasn't been used yet but I'm sure it will be fine. I bought a brand new Celestron Starsense in that Curious Planet sale and the Interface box gives me a complete system for the second mount (AZ-EQ5).

Really nice California Neb you've captured Tony especially from down south, well done.
Would love to be able to get more time on it , maybe early spring next year.
