You've gotta check out this amazing program, autostitch.. It quickly and seamlessly creates a panoramic/mosaic of a bunch of images.. you don't even need to order them!
This did in a very short time what took me ages to do in photoshop, and in the end mine didn't even line up properly. it handles edge of field curvature from digital camera lenses perfectly!
Here's a panorama from 5 shots I took at Port MacQuarie over xmas last year!
Oh and it's a free demo version.. there's no commercial version yet, they're trying to get development partners to build products around the technology.
But the demo version is full functionality, aside from the fact you can't feed it TIFF's.
I just fed it my lunar mosaic images that I took on the 1st February 2005, it didn't quite do as good a job as I did manually but if I had more frames with a bit more overlap, it most certainly would've.. and there's no doubt it's about a thousand times quicker than me!

i could never get this pic lined up because of the sky colour being slightly off. Now i actually have a decent pano photo!
Was taken in New Zealand about 20 mins out of Wanaka (1hr from Queenstown).
Thanks for that Mike. Just downloaded it. The proggie that came with the Nikon D70 is so-so and Photoshop is a pain in the neck for doing panoramas, and that's from someone who teaches it!

thats ok. i just found out today not only my grandmother was born in NZ, that both my great grandparents were born in NZ too!! but i swear im REALLY AUSSIE! lol wonder if i could apply for KIWI citzenship! lol
Nice shots Rowena. Panoramic shots are best done with a special panoramic head on your tripod. A panoramic head ensures that the optical centre or nodal point of your lens is aligned with the az axis of your tripod and alignment of your images is accurate. http://gregwired.com/pano/Pano.htm
