Capture Settings for Jupiter

Hi Guys,

took some screen shots of my capture settings for my jupiter the other morning.

This gives you an idea of where i set brightness etc for the toucam. The capture program is Qfocus and I am using the very handy WcCtrl to change the settings. The only thing not in this screen shot is the saturation which I always have at 100%.

I tend to push things pretty hard ie the image scale, so depending on how big your jupiter is ie how much light is coming in, then your exposure may change.

I set the gamma to zero to help focus (ie more focus) and then lift it back up to capture 100 seconds of jupiter.

I record each avi with a name 070303_ut1838_o_jup.avi

070303 = date 3rd March 2007
ut1838 = universal time = 5:38 am local AEST time (UT+11hrs)
o = optimized colour mode, sometimes i will use r = raw mode if the seeing is really up there!
jup = jupiter.

Once captured, I put the avi in a folder named the same way so that when processing starts, i know what data and bmps etc belong to which time.

Remember, each telescope will be different due to the amount of light coming in and how much extra focal length you are adding ie powermates and extension tubes.

Only prob is those numerical values for gain, brightness, gamma, exposure etc are almost impossible to read when I increase that image to 150% or more.

Any chance you can crop that section of your screen capture and post just that? Maybe a bit larger?

Might be my CRT at work which is making it hard to read
