I got a rare clear night but with a full moon, perfect time to stress test the L-Enhance filter. Both targets were just far enough away from the moon that it's light wasn't directly hitting the objective. M27 was low over the roof of our house.
I kept exposures a little shorter because of the moon.
TS115 @f/5.6, Nikon D5600 @ISO400, Optolong L-Enhance filter
M17: 16x5 min
M27: 14x5 min
Thanks Martin. I can certainly recommend the filter. I hope Optolong are working on an even narrower band filter similar to the Triad Ultra, but half the price.
Thanks Alex. The aspect I like best about my gear is ease of use, even if it won't reach the quality of a mono camera.
Yeh but why worry..when it all boils down we only ,even with the best mono filter set up, grab a small hint of the EMS.. The mono thing is just so much effort..I am happy to be there but....the fact is your results are damn good and a fantastic return on investment and work input...

Amazing depth in the image of M17 Tony, & good to see the 115 getting some starlight. I've resisted the urge to invest in a LP filter but these results are impressive. Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys, I had another go at M17, this time 9x7 minutes and a little different processing. Star colours would nicer without the harsh filter, but it's a significant advantage when the moon's about.
Tony , The L-Enhance filter is something else Eh Amazing results!!I will look at the specs..... Your FOV is wide !! One question , why only ISO400. I've also resolved to not go down the Mono /RGB filter path like Alex as I just don't have/not will to spend that extra time.... X x 5min.. I'm wanting to get to 5 seconds There must be a standard bench mark for total photons/min or something similar that would assist......

The nuts & bolts part is towards the end if you can sit through it. I had to watch it a couple of times to get my head around the theory but it's well worth it. DR Robin Glover is the speaker. You could also google "optimum sub exposure length/ astrophotography' or similar, there's plenty of info out there.
