Scott Manley The $5 Telescope vs a $50 and $500 Telescopes

As a fan of Scott Manley ( Scottish Astrophysicist) I watched a great YouTube clip of his regarding cheap telescopes
It’s a great clip and a must for the avid beginner, in particular Scott demonstrates and pulls apart a Retail $5 telescope and shows all the shortfalls and things to be wary of when purchasing your first telescope
You will also get a bit of a laugh out of it !!
I love his accent and delivery !
Cheers

KMart have those.

A shame to see Vivitar has been reduced to that carp.

I found one of these $5 scopes in the rubbish outside a house riding my bicycle to work one day ,,, even with a good prism Vixen .965 -1 1/4 inch hybrid diagonal and TV Plossl eyepieces the image was terrible .

A good video and yes AVOID !.

This is the first and last time I set up and used this JUNK .

Brian.
