Hydra galaxy cluster

20x3 min with the Edge 8 and 0.7 reducer.

The largest galaxy between the 2 bright stars is NGC 3312; many other galaxies in the field.

Lovely image Tony
I think I spotted 9 galaxies but this image probably doesn’t do it justice, the original image probably shows more
Cheers

Thanks Martin. The image is a bit rough, I can see a couple dozen, but there's several dozen in the area.

Tracking looks really good , this is an often over looked section of sky and did you use the 72mm or 115mm ? for this .

Brian.

I used an 8" SCT Brian. I think the bigger scope is needed to get the image scale for those dozens of little galaxies, but I'll give it a go with the 115 soon since I've got all unstable weather for the outlook.

NGC 3314 (red arrow) is interesting as a line of sight but not interacting pair of galaxies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_3314

Nice image. That scope seems rather neat with the reducer. I gotta have one☺
