NGC 5139 Omega Centauri 1st image from new rig

This is the 1st image from my new 8” f5 newt on an EQ6-R mount captured last night in 35km/hr wind and neighbours floods lights spilling across my Scope
50 x 1 minute subs
20 x dark frames
ISO 800
PHD2 guiding ( 1.1 to 1.3 arc sec error )
Canon 600D
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools
First time using a Baader coma corrector and boy what a difference to the image absolutely no coma !!!
Had trouble polar aligning this big rig, took an hour but got there ( around 1 arc minute error
A huge improvement to my old 6” f6 , more light , shorter subs , better guiding a nice solid quiet mount. A very happy Chappy !!

Great capture Martin.
I was looking outside and thinking great that you had a reasonably decent sky and although a few little things like wind and light I would say the venture was a complete sucess so well done.

I must say I was not confident that it would clear looking out yesterday afternoon.
How does it look for tonight?Are you going again? You could try the new scope on the hamburger.

Welcome to the 8" club Martin. Your image is almost monotone, try upping
the colour saturation, there are many reddish stars in 5139. Well done.

Cloud Free Night app was spot on last night
Tonight clear sky until 10pm then some cloud moving in to about 30% to 40 % cover , so a short night.Probably not enough time to capture galaxies ( maybe a cluster or two )

Yes indeed happy to be part of the 8” club
Great scope, great mount , guiding was superb under gusty winds and Goto using EQMOD and Stellarium was super accurate , hit the centre of frame straight off the bat
Sorry about the colour , I rushed this one , maybe a re process later
I can’t believe I captured so much light for just 1 minute subs , my 6” needed 2 or 3 minute subs to expose the same level of detail
