Congratulations Alex, and we look forward to another 11k
2+ posts a day for 14 days...wow, but I think Mike reached 3 posts/day for 13 years, and Rick got 3.2 posts/day in the last 9 years, so there is room for improvement Alex...just saying

Well done Alex, 11k is an enviable number, and you've no doubt brought a lot of knowledge/enjoyment to a lot of people on here. At my current rate of posting, I should hit 11k in approximately 68 years....

We all know how how that began... another whimsical thread launched at your usual zany standard. This place wouldn't be the same without you.
Furthermore, your technical development in AP appears to be preceeding mine by about 1-2 years. Essentially, you're asking all the questions (and sharing the answers) to what I'll hitting in the near future. Thanks for saving me the embarrassment
Whatever/however you're doing it - do continue!

Thanks to all for joining in and particularly for all the kind words.
If I can being a little joy to another human either by way of some humour or encouragement I am happy.
I would like to think that others, who may feel the game is way beyond them to realise if a crippled old man with a poor education and limited resources (me☺) can manage progress, then they will not find the going as tuff as they may imagine.
Well tonight looks good but I dont hold much hope for the fifty mm lens I purchased however the intervalometer will allow something given I can get long exposures without the lap top.
I will try the fifty again but it seems as if it wont reach focus...hope I am wrong...I must look at the individual subs but I am sure the first looked perfect but blown up the final stack was not good...
Again I could not find sigma octans but managed some exposures before the rain hit.
I have the zwo and 80mm ready but I want to do some long exposure widefields as I still have not gone past 30 second exposues...at least last night I was able to get 3 minutes with a 30 second interval....I think the heq5 should manage 5 minutes unguided if polar is good which with an hour or more total exposure should be nice.
Thanks ti all for being such a decent group of humans.

Leon I would be happy to stop posting for a while so you can pass me.
I am sure you could do it in no time.
Your posts are usually interesting and I am sure you must have more yarns than someone like me who has not had much experience in life.

I took a vow of silence that took me out for a long time..just on the net still talked to the check out girls when I went shopping.I would still visit most days but did not sign in or post for years as I recall.
I think I probably would hold the record for volume of text if such records could be made available.
I love your work but I dont comment in the deep sky forum only because I would have to be praising folk day in day out...as it is I find it hard encouraging all the new talent coming thru in beginers astrophotography.

I cant remember which lady and just now realised there have been more than I can remember...friends I mean...I am not tame enough to live under a roof every day and eat off plates like they always expect.
And all they can think of is kissy kissy and that will often ruin a good night at the scope...But I would like someone to do the dishes and keep me warm..I guess thats why I miss my dogs so much.

Alex i did not mean that seriously, it is of no consequent if i do or don't.
And to talk about experience mate I am sure you can pass me on most levels.
By the way whilst I am here I don't quite know if you were serious or just having a lend of me about the fellow asking about subs.
It was just a tongue in cheek suggestion so to speak to pass the night away, I don't even like red wine

Hi Leon
Dry humour just does not work when applied to a liquid subject matter☺ ...no just practicing being silly Leon.
Its a nice night here except there is a poor cow complainig ..maybe giving birth.
Seem to have sorted my focusing problem from an initial review...its only now that I have everything running...5 minute subs and 30 second interval so I will get in another hour and see how it goes.
All is good Leon.
