ngc 2659 Vela
NGC 2659 is the central cluster in the image; it's in the middle of the Vela SNR and some green wispy's show up if you look close.
Second image is the Pencil ngc 2736 on the edge of the SNR.

It's fun trying a new area; I haven't previously paid any attention to Vela. I like the various brighter star colours spread through the busy starfield.
These were a couple of hours of 5 minute exposures at f/4.8 and I pushed the saturation in PS.

My previous camera was a 600D and the Nikon looks a little more sensitive, but the big advantage is that the Nikon has far less noise.
