Just rescued my neighbour from this formidable (to her) chappy. He's a python so he's non venomous and after the rats attracted to the food she leaves out for her rabbits.

Released him at my place...goodbye rat problem here at Castle Quirky where we rescue wild life of all kinds and that often attracts rats to food scraps discarded by careless birds etc...

His constrictions felt like a blood pressure band...I could definitely feel my radial pulse while we held each other.

Seen 2 together, so probably mated....grrrrrr.

Not worried myself, but am for the kids and cat

They are great.

I had one for years he finally left but would come back for visits.

There was one up home (my old home) that probably was a decendant...he would curl up under the table and I would get a shock when I realised he was there...harmless but you get a fright when your leg brushes this funny feeling thing.

There was a huge one out in the bush once..years ago ..the dogs had bailed it up and I swear there was 12 feet of it either side of a large coil ..I dont know how big it was but it seemed it would have had to be 20 feet which is unbelievable...

The one recently got in the roof in the bathroom and stretched and broke all the ceiling..the little devil.

Errrrr....sure. I love them all but you wouldn't mind if I didn't actually grab him the same way!

Seriously those guys are best left alone. They're highly venomous and very aggressive. I've removed red belly black snakes myself but I have experience with them and they are more placid (still lethal and shouldn't be interfered with by inexperienced people).

I know you'd never hurt wildlife Lewis... But many people would kill those guys out of hand. Possibly getting bitten themselves in the process.

A professional snake catcher will easily remove dangerous snakes.

I had this little Dude (see link) slither past my keyboard whilst I was at work. We'd left a ceiling tile out in the office, and didn't clean up. Having lived out in the boonies all my life, I just stayed dead still as he went past. No worries.

It was after 5pm on Friday, and nobody was answering the phone. So I just stuffed some pillows under the door, put a sign up, and emailed the other office staff.

We never saw him since.

Smaller one is my Centralian python Biggis Dickis, he'll get about 7 foot total length. The second wrapped around my hand is Monty python, he confused my hand for food and is latched onto my little finger while squeezing the crap out of the rest of my hand.

Spray cold water Lewis to get rid of them, or depending on size of them hard boil a couple of eggs and place them about they'll eat the eggs and can't process them and die. Living on a farm I deal with all sorts here, reds I keep around the house and sheds, browns however once in the house yard I terminate as the kids have priority.

That might be illegal in many states. Maybe have them removed instead.

+1 on the reds and browns.
? on the eggs. Never heard that one.

I love the Python's as well , they are simply gorgeous , here is me holding a friends pet .
