Angry No Power.

We received letter from our power company early last week stating an interruption to power will occur Sunday 4th of Feb from 8am to 3pm. Right on 8am off it went, closed the house up due to the hot breeze, close all the curtains so it was nice and dark. Inside was around 22 degrees. By 12pm it was 28 inside and getting very very stuffy so i had to get some air flow through the house, open some windows and the curtains a bit which helped with the air flow but not with the temp. By the time i left for work at 3pm, still no power and inside temp was 34 degrees. My wife said the power came on around 3.15pm, she closed the house up again and put the air conditioners on. By that time i think it was hard to cool the place down as it was a tad under 40 degrees outside. I came home at 8.30pm after work, the a/c still going flat out and inside temp had dropped to 30.2 degrees. What a horrible day..

Kak, I hate those hot, sticky days.

I can see definate advantages to digging in and moving underground.
A constant temperature of 23 degrees, no airconditioning needed.
If it's going to be getting hotter each year, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Gee they could have been considerate & turned the power off from 8pm to 3 am, At least that would get rid of the lights & keep you cool
Hope you are starting to cool off by now

Don't see why they couldn't, it would have been better for all i think. They put a couple of new power poles in, a couple of house blocks behind our house, now we have another new light in the area.
