Plane Crash- Lion Air JT610

Sad to hear news of yet another plane crash. Lion Air flight JT610 was departing Jakarta for a one hour flight to Pangkal Pinang. The plane crashed near Tanjung Karawang in the waters off West Java. It only made 5,000ft upon departure from Jakarta, contact was lost 13 mins into the flight. Debris has been found. Around 188 people were onboard (210 seat capacity) but yet to be confirmed. Indonesia’s finance ministry says 20 of its officials were among the passengers.

The aircraft was a new Boeing 737 MAX 8, having been delivered just this August (it's a new model replacing the existing 737-8).
The divers are currently in the water trying to find the plane. Depth in that area is 30-35 metres.

A friend of mine who pays for the fr24 subscription was able to replay the flight data - see pics below.
Pic #1- it appears an inbound Batik Air was investigating it at 6,000ft.

Pic #2 shows it slicing past inbounds that were on the approach between 4000 and 6000.. it went right through the corridor at 5000 feet.

Oh My ...another 737..........I was watching Air Crash Investigations on TV just recently ...a 737 ( early model ) crashed on Runway ...Pilot thought he was at the right altitude to approach but hit the runway and the 737 broke apart killing all on board.

Reason for accident ....the planes ' radio altimeter ' was giving the pilot incorrect information on ' glide path ' ....faulty instrument was to blame.

Col....
