Wedge bolted down - will it make a difference?

Today I finally got around to drilling 3 holes in my pier matching the holes in the Meade Super Wedge such that I can attach the wedge by all 4 bolts not just the centre 1 bolt. This is after 4 - 6 years (can't remember now) of using the wedge just bolted on by the one central bolt.

I wonder if it will make a difference to stability and pointing accuracy?

I am hoping it will mean less flexure (if there is any) in the wedge, hopefully improving pointing accuracy across the sky. We'll see.

It's going to make polar alignment harder - having to losen them off and tighten them up. But luckily I don't have to tweak that too often.

I'm sure it will Roger. And even if it doesn't, it will make you feel better, surely.

On my 12" LX200 I always use the four bolts; wouldn't think of using otherwise. No shake no shimmy rock solid!!
