Hi,
Gday to all !
the kids got a 50mm dept store refractor for xmas, I set it up for them and took one look at the moon, my breath was taken away for a bit....."why did n't I do this long ago? "......
After abit of research and emptying pockets.....( I'm on disability, so money is always a problem and I've got some physical limits moving, esp carrying even viewing), I decided on a Celestron EQ 127 one of the powerseeker range and yesterday ran out and bought one.
I enjoyed myself quite a bit last night, nice big black rings under my eyes and quite satisifed with a first look at things I've always wanted to see but never had the time.
I live on the northern beaches and so light pollution is a big problem esp out to the east. Which begs me to ask about LPC filters. The scope uses 1.25 eyepieces and I understand it is not a pure reflector (short tube) and would like some kind of idea on what optical improvement to expect from using such a filter.
thanks in advance
Davo
