Schiller and environs

Not the best image ever posted here BUT I did this with a handheld afocal shot through the dob with a 26mm Meade series 4000 lense and an Olympus mju 300 and the zoom set at 3x. I can't believe the detail here with this primitive setup, the image is just cropped from the original and despeckled in Photoshop.

I just can't wait till my bracket for the camera turns up to get rid of the shaking problems.

A very nice afocal shot there Rob. Quite a dramatically illuminated lunarscape along the terminator, with the big foot print of Schiller.

the camera adapter will make allthe difference rob. you will get more shot in and they will be steadier... you might even stack some!

Was Schiller a grazing hit or is it two craters joined together?

Nice one Rob! I think Schiller is a grazing hit, though i'm not 100% sure.
