Mak 180 Rings Dovetail advise needed

I am planning to make the changes similar to what Philip did for his Mak 180
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=156497

that is add rings and remove the existing direct to OTA mounted dovetail.

But because my main issue is balance on the Evolution mount I want to be able to slide the OTA more forward (also to accommodate a focuser at back to help balance).
So as show in the attached picture i want to extend the dovetail further down below the back ring purely to give more forward movement to balance. Would this be ok?

I also plan to possibly ad a second dovetail on top to add counter weights if required. idealy a magnetic type weight would be nice that I could just stick on the back but not sure where to get those?

Any tips advise criticism welcome.

If anyone has a CPC 11" fork mount please let me know.

Kind Regards
Fahim
