Hello to all you Astronuts like me.
If any of you live in or around Brisbane, and can spare some time working with us, we need you.
We are constructing a new Optical and Radio Astronomy site at Aratula, about an hour's drive south west of Brisbane.
It is being built on a totally self help scheme, and we need more willing astronomers to help us complete it.
I have been spending my weekends there for over 2 years, and we have come a long way in that time, but it has been under construction for much longer than that.
We usually meet on Friday evenings at the Aratula Pub, have a few beers and a meal, then retire to the site for a bit of star gazing and a glass or two of wine, before hitting the sack.
We have some accomodation on site.
Saturdays are usually spent on constructing buildings, brainstorming solutions to problems, and arguing......
It is hard work, believe me, only the brave should apply.
Worker's will be rewarded with preferential use of the gear.
