Saturn from Lostock, my best so far!

Seeing at Lostock on Friday night was unbelievably good, I had the best views and images of Saturn so far this year, possibly the best ever.

Here's one processed run - normally I have to combine data from several runs to get this sort of result, but not this time!

Scope Details: http://www.acquerra.com.au/astro/lexx.html
Capture Details: 3 minutes each of R,G,B @ 25 fps

Image has been resampled to 150% normal size before processing

cheers, Bird

Wow, awesome Anthony.. I knew I was going to regret not imaging again that night

I'm yet to process my Thursday data but I hope it turns out to be my best as well.

Very nice image!

Oh yeah!

Very good, Anthony.

What I'd do for some knock-out seeing!!

Great processing job, too.

Nicely done bird. Definately deserving a self-pat on the back.

Hi Anthony

That is a wonderful image of Saturn - easily the best I have seen this season. Well done, it looks stunning.

Cheers

That's got to be one of the best Saturn shots I've ever seen! You guys weren't kidding about the clear skies at Lostock. That's just brilliant.

Excellent Saturn Anthony, worth the sleep deprivation
I now know just how much effort you put in to get these shots

Here's an alternative, close to real size, slightly different contrast/brightness.

I'm doing this on my crappy dell laptop with the nonlinear brightness (tm) lcd screen...

I've just returned for my 2nd look - and it looks even better. I am reminded of a Cassini Spacecraft image - your processing makes the planet look so natural it’s hard to believe it is an earthbound image.

Cheers

Dennis

I like the second shot even better! I can even see the edge of Saturn through the Crepe Ring

Is that a hint of an F ring I can see there

Nope, just a processing artifact I think... btw there is a moon visible, although you probably won't find it unless you load the image into photoshop and wind the levels up.

I'll identify and label it later, and upload an image.

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who can take good Saturn images, and those who cant.

You are definitely one who can.

WOW, this looks even better on my work LCD screen, instead of the laptop screen. Incredible Anthony, well done. I'm processing my Thursday night Saturn's now.. the red channel looks good at least

Have you finished processing the Jupiter data? Anything worthwhile there?
