With the full moon around a few nights ago and only a few degrees away from NGC 6188 I figured it would be a good night to test the spacing I have with my stock adapters for the QHY163M and my Sky Rover. Initial estimates had it being 2.5mm too far back and considering the field curvature, I’d say that it’s pretty much correct.
I had planned on getting near 100 subs over the course of the night but I ended up with 12
After a few hours of cloud (and making a guide graph during cloud) I went back to NGC 6188 and it wasn’t long before it hit meridian. I was in bed when my camera hit the tripod leg and there the camera sat for the next 6 hours taking hours and hours of star trails. Thankfully the DDM60 registers a power spike when it hits something (tripod leg) so even when sleeping at 12° per second it won’t damage equipment. Only waste a full moon!
So, I have 12x300s of Ha. Some taken at Gain 140 from before the cloud came and then again 80 between the cloud ending and tripod hitting. No bias or darks but I did take flats at Gain 80. All in all, I’m happy with the result.
