For Peats sake, not another McNaught !!!

OK so I took this one tonight from a place called Peats Ridge on the Central Coast.
I met up with Rod (Rodstar) and his lovely family.
It was a beautiful scene even though there was smoke haze low on the horizon.

Just can't get enough of this beautiful comet !

Lovely shot RB, I don't seem to be able to get the tail detail like you have, The smoke certainly adds to the effect. What settings did you use??.

Thanks Phil, I haven't had a chance to reply to your thread yet, it's so busy around here, with so many beautiful shots !!!

I used a Canon 5D, 85mm f/2.8, ISO 400 for a 25 sec exp.

Yep, same spot Mike. I was going to stay home but Rod messaged he was going there, so I grabbed the kids and gear and went over.

Thanks for your company last night RB. Was great to meet two of the boys. What a crack-up the guy who stopped his car to take a leak, with headlights shining in our faces, completely oblivious to us!

As I said on another thread, Nina said to me that she was glad she came. Now for someone with ZERO interest in astronomy to say that, we have ourselves a little miracle!

Great image, by the way.
