C8 Saturn 12th jan.

Seeing conditions this morning were the best I have seen it for months, ranging from 5 - 9/10. Unfortunately I missed the 9/10 window due to a camera problem. This image (the best out of 15 or so AV's) was probably about 8/10.

Orange tubed C8/900nc.

Very nice, John. Very nice indeed.

You've really got that looking sharp. That 900nc does good things.

Good job

Excellent image John. I remember that C8 pulling out some great Jupiter images - i'm sure it will do the same on Saturn.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I remember the 'green ring' syndrome with the refractor Dave. Frustrating yet rewarding because I learnt a lot from that experience in the areas of capture parameters & processing. In order to get the natural coloured rings, I had to tweek the white balance so the preview image of the planet was bright yellow & then process it out after...What a pain in the neck!

Nice image ASI, colours look very natural; goes to show size doesn't necessarily matter.

Yep. Seeing is King Phil! Although I'm at the limit already as far as image scale versus image brightness. Could do with more aperture..

Nicely done Asi. I know what you mean about image brightness and aperture. You might need to join the DMK club
