Nine Panel Ha Mosaic NGC3372 Eta Carina

This is a Mosaic of 9 panels. Each has 5 x 5mins of Ha data, so total of 3 hours 45 mins of data. Mosaic capture was done in SGP with the Framing and Mosaic Wizard (which is now an inclusion in V3 of SGP BTW rather than a seperate add-on) and Mosaic was constructed with Pix Insight along with most of the pre and post processing followed by a bit of level and curves in PS CC 2017 and a some layer masking to bring out the detail around the Keyhole.

Equipment was:
Scope: Stellarvue SVR102T IS
Mount: Orion AZEQ-G
Camera: Atik One 6.0
Filter: Astronomik Ha 6nm
Guiding: Orion ST80 and Orion SSAG Pro with PHD2
Acquisition: SGP

Really nice Malcom, SGP does make it easy to make mosaics.
It looks seamless so very well done

A seamless mosaic, nicely processed and I can appreciate the effort involved! Did you use the dnalinearfit script before the gradient merge, or did it go together without any problems?
cheers,
Andrew.

That’s a beauty Malcolm although it looks like there’s some nebulosity trying to escape off the edge

Nicely done Malcolm. There must be a lot of work in that.

Stunning effort Malcolm. Worth the time to capture the extra field of view that you don't normally get with this object.

Actually, this is the reference image I created with Star Alignment. When I went to make panels using SA to then merge with Gradient Merge. The panel didn't work on the second iteration, and this result was so good I just used it instead. No I didn't use DNA Linearfit. Just a bit of MLT noise reduction then a bit of tweaking in PS. I did have to use a repair brush to fix up a single seam in PS but was relatively easy.

Great start mal but you've decapitated Gabrielle's head!
Maybe add a few more panels at the bottom to balance the image
