M42 New Camera Test

Finally I had a chance to squeeze in some imaging and to test out the 6D I picked up a few weeks ago. I've been itching to see how well it performs with light pollution, especially now that my neighbours have increased their outdoor lighting setup.

Since my chances of targeting a galaxy were slim I decided to play it safe and test it on M42. Here's the result. Any recommendations for a good LP filter that might be able to pick up more detail in the faint areas?

Looks amazing!
Well done.

More detail = more time.

Keep the data safe and by this time next year

Thanks Peter, I'll try to add more subs to it and see if it can bring out some more detail. Hopefully I can get out to a dark site next new moon and give the camera some cleaner photons to work with.

Thanks Christopher. It's probably a little too candy cane (over processed), but it is the festive season so I guess it kinda fits.
