A bit horse

Croped from a 1170 second hand guided at 800 iso..the dark destroyed the image so I played with what I had and cropped the amp burn and huge stars.
Just happy to get something without mods or filters.

Alex, I will not comment, but will direct you to what you told me earlier, about my horsey. I think you will get my meaning, well done.

Well Leon this was a case of putting my money where my mouth is..I really had no intentions of posting it ...but part of the game I reckon is to encourage folk to have a go... for me to get the stars so round (and this was cropped major) I am happy... I have few illusions but for a $400 scope guided with an 80 x 400 $200 scope captured with a 300d un modded and no filters...I am happy...

Alex, I have found myself in a position on to many occasions striving for what i think should be my end result, when it comes to imaging.

I have to pull myself up sometimes, and question myself, telling myself that the image I have produced, is OK, it is the best I can do, even if it is not anywhere near the standards of some.

I often find myself comparing to much with some of the great images on IIS, and don't bother posting as it would not come close.

However I am now learning, that, as you have said also, that we can only do our best, and that we should accept the many failures of this imaging game as a new starting point, and continue, with our heads held high.

Leon these are not my words and I can not recall where I got them from but...

Never compare your self with others as this will leave you vain and bitter
for there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself
.

That's why I am always so happy Leon ...I respect all living things and recognise its my life and I really don't give a ratz what others think of me... not what you would call self conscious.

Now that wont please everyone but I am not really worried.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts... and if you get out tonight have a good one..

best wishes

alex

Alex for what it's worth, i wish i could get an horse like that on my dsi.
Untill now i am only getting starclusters albeit a bit out of focus.
One day we all will get good pictures.
It is just a steep learning curve we have to overcome.

Thank you most respected members.
Martin I wish I could get such on the DSI as that was with the 300d.
Here is the bigger picture which I worked real hard on to get it to work

Thanks Ric and yes I do have a great time...I was a perfectionist once and had to spend a long time to move past that approach cause I was never satisfied with anything...it made life miserable for me and all around me... slack is a learned art and acceptance of what is the ultimate peace.

I really like it Alex, you've done very well.
To me it resembles a shot of the Horsey using film which I like very much.
The B/W image brings out detail better.

Thanks for posting it.

That's great alex Good image scale and detail there.

Hmmmm, I wonder how the DSI would go on the horsey? I must add that to my suddenly rejuvenated list of things to image.

Andrew funny you should raise that... the DSI seems to "burn" out things and I was thinking of having a go at it using the DSI ...based on a feeling that it may work well on a dim object.

But it would be the ultimate test for it... the small FOV could work well cause you presumably could exclude the bright stars that make this one difficult (for me anyways)

And thanks for your kind words of encouragement I sure do appreciate them.

Well said as usual Alex..
And its all about having a go, even with basic eq, light pollution etc..without fear of criticism from the ignorant.
Amazing results with that outfit.
