Wireless USB extension

Does anybody know about something like this?

I would like to remotely (and wirelessly) operate my Canon from PC, with minimum h/w..

BTW, is it possible to connect and operate a pair of USB-serial adapters back-to-back?
In case the above "extension" works at all, it should be possible to use serial radio link instead of wires.....

I think I can solve this with simple remote for garage gate... and intervalometer.

if all you are after is an infrared remote with an intervalometer...
(and depending on your model of EOS and phone)

Android "EOS Remote" is the official app

another is "DSLR Remote"

both of these work with my 7d and HTC phone

Thanks for the tips, mate...
My cameras are 450D and 60D.
Ideally, I would like to use EOS utility (or some AP application that control both the mount and the camera), but remotely..
Now, I know I can use remote desktop application and another lap as ultimate USB hub (among other things...) but remote timer will probably suffice for now.
In the future, when my observatory is finished, everything will be on LAN/WiFi anyway.

you could also add the intervalometer function to your 60d with magic lantern.

I did this with my 7d but took it off after i bought a zwo. (its a bit fiddly to set up but when running, works really well)

I'm not sure about ML for the 450d - it seems to be an experimental build - but as ML does
not change the firmware on your camera you could see how it works

Yesterday my new wireless timer/intervalometer arrived, it works OK.
However, I noticed one odd thing - when the receiver is switched OFF (and attached to camera), the output behaves as short - and camera shutter is activated. Not a big deal, but strange.... it must be the receiver output is not like open drain (or OC).
