Hmmm, tough one.

Only site I can think of is this one, in the Buy/Sell section they occasionally come up.

I haven't seen any in the Astro selling sites. But keep your eye open in here: http://www.astrobuysell.com/au/

If you can scrape together another $80, Andrews Communication have the Guan Sheng 8" for $449, brand new.

It just depends how long you want to wait... they will pop up from time to time here in the Buy/Sell forum. They might come up more often in the next few months as people upgrade to 10", 12" and 16" dobs so they'll sell their 8".

I think John's advice is the go. Sure many people will be upgrading to larger optics but many keep their smaller scope for a grab and go version. Considering the performance of the 8" scopes they are on the large end of grab and go but people usually hang onto them once they have them.

Save a bit longer and get a new one from Andrews

Cheers

I was going to sell my 8", but I changed my mind. It's worth more to me than the money I'd get for it. Even though I have a 10" also, it's a good second scope that I can take anywhere and let other people (incl. non-astronomers, kids etc) use without having to worry about what might happen to it.

Andrews and Myastroshop have the Skywatcher 8" for little over $400. My advice would be to scrape a few more $s together, and approach a local retailer and get them to match best price you find anywhere.

Hi Angelus
Where abouts in the country are you? I'm actually planning on selling my Optex 8" dobson and would rather it goes to someone on IceInSpace so I could do it for $370 Plus postage.
I'm in Perth.
Reason for sale, as some guys have said some of us are upgrading to bigger dobs.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Angelus
Save a few more $$$ and go for the new scopes. The SkyWatcher is better finished than the GSO's but, you'll be blown away by either.
Most places should price match. Also check the postage as this will probably be the deciding factor.
