Borg 76ED Apochromatic telescope

For Sale - these do not come up very often as they are usually held onto as they are a very high end premium unit and very expensive

I have recently bought a CFF 80mm oil spaced APO Triplet, so this Borg unit is now not going to get any use and I am moving it onto someone who I trust will actually use it

Borg Japanese Premium ED Glass Apochromatic ED76 76mm telescope
Premier Japanese ED glass optical quality.
Native focal ratio is f6.6 (502mm focal length) - reduces to f6 with the included 0.85x BORG Focal Reducer (PN 7887).
Note: This reducer is designed also as a field flattener for large CCDs. It has been used with a STL11K.

Package includes:
SBIG STL11K to Focal Reducer Custom Adapter (for optimum backfocus distance)
0.85x Focal Reducer (PN 7887)
Canon EOS Camera Adapter (PN 5005)
Front Helical Focusser Adapter Set (PN 7130)
Rotating Ring (yes, manual camera rotation) (PN 7352)
Helical Focusser (PN 7835)
Pair of rings (white)
Extension tubes/spacers - PN 7601, 7602, 7603, 7504
Adapters various - PN 7920, 7424, 7507, 7522, 7502
2" EP Holder (PN 7508) Short
2" EP Holder (PN 7509) Long

The main parts of this package new would cost you approx $1700 (now superceded by the 77EDII), Reducer is $369, STL-BORG Adapter $148, Helical Focusser - $206, Rotating Ring $99). However, the package includes many other bits and pieces as above.

The OTA body (which does not contain any optical element) has very minor cosmetic marks on the tube only, optically it is excellent

This unit is a highly portable, wonderfully light, and for astrophotography, is configured in the best orientation for imaging with the helical focuser at the front. Therefore, there is no sag at the camera end

The helical focuser is gorgeous, exactly the smoothness and precision you would expect from this premier Japanese manufacturer

Used visually and also as a very high luxury guidescope

Priced at a bargain at $1,000

Shipment available nationally and internationally on application - payment via direct bank deposit or cash on pickup

Dear Castor,

Thank you for the enquiry.

I just weighed the telescope, it weighs 1.26 Kg.

Trust this assists.

Rgds,
Cris.
